The Hero’s Journey

The Hero’s Journey is a story we all know, and have seen countless times throughout popular culture and ancient mythology alike. A term first coined by Joseph Campbell in his work The Hero With A Thousand Faces (1949), it references the underlying meta-structure and recognisable stages by which the most famous stories follow, from the likes of Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings to classics like Homer’s Odyssey, Beowulf, and even Exodus.

My debut album, releasing in the summer of 2025, is my sonification of this classic narrative structure.
